Gary Levens

Pastor & Elder

Gary began his working life as an engineering draftsman and then entered full-time Christian ministry in 1974 in a large Auckland Church, firstly as youth pastor and then as Assistant Pastor and finally as Senior Pastor with his wife, Judy.  That congregation consisted of 2,500 people, had 40+ missionaries.

Gary and his family then moved to Chile as missionaries for six years, founding a successful multi-cultural church in the city of Vina del Mar.  The family then moved to Brisbane in 1993 to take up the role of Associate Pastor/College Pastor at Northside Christian Family (now Nexus Church).

In 1997 Gary and Judy took the Senior Pastorate at Taigum Church and built the congregation to around 600 people and a strong worldwide missionary ministry amongst orphans.  In 2013 they left Taigum to commence Dayboro Church.

Gary has a strong pastoral heart, which helps to create a warm, friendly family-church environment in which disciples are made and mentored into their own effective ministry life.  His four cornerstone values for church are:- Discipleship; Presence; Family & Mission.
